Congratulations to Alison Holmes and Chip for winning the high combined Open prize from the Slash J and The Big One. She took home a beautiful pottery platter.
A special thanks to our hosts Harry and Gloria Kerr for allowing us to compete with our dogs on this amazing field and also for the lovely meal they prepared for all to enjoy the first evening of the trial. I want to thank Barb Ross for doing the books for me, Amanda Njos for all the wonderful food and Tom Kok and Mindy Bower who spotted sheep from horseback for three days and all of the handlers who stepped up to help set sheep or whatever else needed done. A special thanks to Bud Boudreau and crew for getting the sheep corraled each morning. The first morning was a challenge as the sheep decided they didn't want to play, but after a two hour delay they were finally penned and the trial was underway and went quite smoothly thereafter. It was called The Big One for a reason as the outrun was nearly 900 yards but many of the dogs proved they could outrun and gather nicely at that distance. What a wonderful challenge. Thank you all for helping make this trial happen...Rene
